2008 Outlaw Nitro Shootout
 
In 2008 O.R.S.C.A. will be featuring an eight car Nostalgia Top Fuel Nitro Shootout. It will be held at four of the O.R.S.C.A., Year One series events and will be run on a Chicago style format on Saturday night. Eight top fuel cars will be booked to compete for a cash purse totaling $13,000.00 per event. In addition Alcohol cars will be allowed to compete far a $4,500.00 purse.

O.R.S.C.A. is currently seeking marketing partners to enhance this purse and to create a point’s fund. The Atlanta Speed Shop has committed to be the co-sponsor of the series along with Year One and O.R.S.C.A. We are seeking 1-3 more contributors to generate a total of $15,000.00 to help finance the program. In addition we are looking for sponsors for, products, Low ET, Top Speed, Winner, and Runner-up, Trophy and of course contingencies.

Rules:
NHRA safety rules.
- 225” maximum wheelbase front engine dragster, altered, funny cars and door cars.
- Any engine and drive train.
- Maximum tire tread is 12.5” width X 103” rollout.
 
Payouts:
A minimum of two (2) representative runs are required. The following pay scale will be paid out for each of the Two runs. It will be paid again based on the average performance of each car.

Alcohol cars must finish in the top 8 overall to get paid.
There will be free entry for all cars. Top Fuel: Driver and 5 crew members. Alcohol: Driver and 3 crew members
Runs will be made after Outlaw 10.5 Qualifying sessions 2 and 3 on Saturday night. All cars will make two (2) runs. The quickest two cars in the first session will run each other in the second session for winner and runner-up. Cars must make a burnout, stage and break the lights to be paid for the session.
Insurance runs can be made during Friday night Test and Tune sessions. Each insurance run guarantees rank at the bottom for one race session in the event of breakage.
